How to Help the Ukrainian People

Through the Ukrainian Canadian Congress:

Go their website at www.ucc.ca and register if you want to provide:

  • Accommodation
  • Translation services in Ukrainian and/or Russian
  • Transportation from airports and/or to appointments
  • Employment
  • Child care

  • Legal services
  • Spiritual services: Although we do not know what if any church affiliation the new Ukrainian arrivals may have, we should be there to support them spiritually and emotionally, since they have undergone a very traumatic situation in their lives. Support visits and prayer is encouraged.

Through the Ukrainian Catholic Church

The Ukrainian Catholic Church in Canada has partnered with the Canadian branch of the Papal charity, The Catholic Near East Welfare Association (CNEWA), to provide immediate humanitarian support for the people of Ukraine.

Donations to CNEWA will help equip local centres to assist struggling families, including those who are displaced and in desperate need for food, shelter, medical attention, and more.

Please pray. Stay informed, and if you are able, please consider donating:

  • Online: http://eeparchy.com/donate and select “Aid to Humanitarian Crisis.”
  • Mail: The Ukrainian Catholic Eparchy of Edmonton, 9645 -108 Avenue NW, Edmonton, Alberta, T5H 1A3.  With cheques payable to: Eparchy of Edmonton and Memo Line: Aid to Humanitarian Crisis.
  • Contact Fr. Jim Nakonechny at St. Vladimir Ukrainian Catholic Church, Red Deer, Alberta, cell: 780-239-2558
