WHAT’S HAPPENING IN OUR PARISH
St. Mary’s Parish is undergoing some renovations that started on June 15.
We are having our ceiling painted and the interior brick walls of the church cleaned. Masses will continue during this time in the Parish Centre.
You are welcome to pray at the Blessed Sacrament (Tabernacle) that is set up in the Parish Centre.
Although things will be different, please know that we remain committed to doing everything we can to have Mass available to everyone, but to also protect our parishioners, church staff, and clergy from infection. With this in mind, the Archbishop wants to remind everyone that we are still excused from the obligation of attending Sunday Mass. This is especially important for anyone who may be at a
greater risk due to health or advanced age. Online Masses will continue and are meant to be a source of comfort and peace.
The capacity for each Mass is greatly restricted while we celebrate Mass in the Hall.
You must phone the church to pre-register for Mass or go to our website.
YOU MUST BRING AND WEAR
A NON-MEDICAL MASK TO ATTEND
The Church’s alley entrance will open 30 minutes before Mass. Upon arriving at the Parish, please ensure you are 6 feet/2 metres apart from one another. We will then go through the list of pre-registered parishioners and ask health related questions before entry into the building. You will then need to hand sanitize and an usher will take you to your seat. The chairs are marked with physical distancing in mind.
Donations can be made on entry into the Hall in a basket provided. Ushers will help maintain physical distancing during Communion. There can be only one single file Communion line. Members of the same household need not observephysical distancing with one another during the Communion procession. Communion will not be distributed on the tongue at this time.
Please use the ally entrance washrooms.
After Mass, everyone must use hand sanitizer and exit out the front doors.
We are greatly in need of volunteers to make sure each Mass runs smoothly and in accordance with the current guidelines mandated by Alberta Health Services.
Please contact the office if you are interested in being a Safety Coordinator, Usher, Point of Entry or Cleaning & Disinfecting Team member.
Mass Intentions are listed on our website.
We are still taking donations for the Food Bank.
You can drop off items at the front or back entrance bin.
Thank you for helping those less fortunate in our community
at this unpredictable time.
