July 30th to August 3rd
Volunteer times: 8:30 am-12:30 pm daily.
Vacation Bible School (or VBS) is a faith based, week long, day camp program offered here at St. Mary's parish. During VBS, children learn more about the Catholic faith through crafts, games, music, and snacks that are all infused with faith teaching. This year's theme is based upon helping children recognise that they are part of the Kingdom of God and that Mary helps to lead us closer to her son. Jesus our King.
Adult volunteers are vital to ensuring the VBS program runs smoothly and safely for all children & youth involved.
Adults participate as station leaders to guide children through activities. Adults are also key to behaviour management and program preparation.
Volunteer Dates & Times:
July 30th to August 3rd - 8:30 am - 12:30 pm
**Help for part of the week is welcome**
Please see the PDF link below for a summarised volunteer schedule for the week.
Volunteers are asked to attend a few VBS planning meetings as well as a volunteer training day prior to the VBS program. This is to ensure our volunteer team is prepared and understand the outline of events for the VBS program.
All adult volunteers are required to complete a Called to Protect Training & volunteer package for ministries if they have not done so before. This requirement is to ensure that the program can be as safe as possible for all children involved.
Your help is greatly appreciated and we are happy to go over these requirements with you to answer any questions and help you work on completing them. Contact Cheyanna Borrowman (information below) to find out more.
Interested in joining the adult volunteer team? See the link below to the online volunteer interest/sign-up form. Please complete this form to let Cheyanna Borrowman (Children's Ministry Leader) know of your formal interest to be involved.
VBS Planning Meetings:
June 27th: VBS Volunteer Program Meeting
Volunteer Training Day: July Date To be Announced
This day will be used to allow the adult and youth volunteers to review the daily activities for the VBS program and prepare for VBS prior to the program dates.
